In part 1 of this series, we discussed the importance and simplicity of creating Content Upgrades. Now, let’s jump into sharing some actionable ideas for systems integrators.

PDF from a Blog or Article

Creating a PDF from your blog post or article is simple. Be sure to draft your content in Word or another document application. Then, export to PDF once you have made it look a little nicer with graphics and headlines. Save the PDF to your website. Next, create a form that can be placed in front of the download of the document. Now, a prospect can simply share a few bits of demographic information with you and they will have the article on their computer to read and share with colleagues.

Spreadsheets

End users who are active in their own decision-making processes will love that you provided a spreadsheet for them to use to get their project organized. A spreadsheet could be used to develop an access control device count for their facility. Again, be sure to put a form in front of the spreadsheet so that you know who has downloaded it. Bonus – this spreadsheet could also be used by your team to get started on an actual design for the customer, saving your team time by having the customer start the process.

Checklists

When it comes to technical projects, a checklist is a great tool to keep things moving forward in an organized manner. It keeps everyone involved from missing critical steps in the development of the project. Be sure the checklist has links and advice that connect back to your sales and design team so that when the time is right, the customer will come looking for help with the next step.

Case Studies and Application Notes

When an end user is seeking a technical solution, it always helps to paint a clear picture of what the solution is and how it will impact their operations. By creating a downloadable application note or successful case study, the prospect will be able to retain and share a document that highlights your solution. They can then add that document to their project file and share it with other stakeholders.

What else?

The list of potential Content Upgrades is seemingly endless. From “convincing the C-suite” scripts to Teams or Zoom video call recordings, the number of additional, downloadable resources you can create is long.
