How are you going to pull that order into this month?

Four business days left in August.  It’s that time of month when every sales person is working hard to bring in those last minute orders.  If you’ve had a tough month, you might be fighting to reach your goal.  If you’ve done well this month, you might be trying to bring in as many orders as possible to take advantage of an accelerated commission.  Regardless of the reason, you need to bring some of those sales that are scheduled to close in September into August.  How are you going to that?

Before you answer “how”, be sure ask yourself “why” you need them.  Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the need to close business now, we end up taking unhealthy orders and damage our customer relationships.  If you’re trying to bring in these last minute orders to help your team and it won’t hurt your customer, then go ahead and knock yourself out; but if your customer will not benefit then you might want to wait until the scheduled date of closure.  Healthy and profitable business in October is much better than bad business in August!
