Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems are great tools … that are hated by a lot of sales people. There are dozens of reasons sales people dislike CRM systems, and I can’t even begin to address all of them. However, I can provide an idea that will help sales people capture more information than they ever have from there sales calls and document all of that information within a minute or two.
Idea for this Tuesday: When you leave an appointment, record your notes and action items in your smart phone. Email the recording to yourself and save the recording in a folder called “CRM”. When you’re updating your CRM, instead of typing a bunch of notes, simply add the recording as an attachment.
It sounds complicated, but it’s easy. This process takes far less time than typing notes. Also, it will capture all the emotion and intangible context of the appointment that notes can’t capture.
What do you think? Is this worth tying?
