First of all, spend time with your family, friends, or someone outside of work.  You’ve got about three weeks of real selling time left in the year, so get refreshed and ready to hit it hard on Monday.  If you have to work today, below is a list of things a security sales professional can do to make it a productive day…

  • Get strategic and plan 2016. Don’t look at email, expense reports or anything tactical.  It’s all about the big picture that you never get the chance to look at.  If you don’t like this idea, then check out the others below that are more tactical.
  • Organize your CRM.
  • Catch up on email, expense reports, etc.
  • Brainstorm and decide upon three skills you’d like to develop in 2016.
  • Identify the top 10 prospects to win in 2016.
  • List the most important items to accomplish before December 18th.
  • Take care of the one task that your boss keeps asking you to do. You know the one – it’s not that important and you keep putting it off, but it’ll make her so happy if you do it.
  • You know those two or three questions that always stump you – find good answers to them.

You get the idea.  If you have to work today, knock out some out-of-the-box items and take advantage of the day of no distractions.
