How Content Marketing can help System Integrators Recruit Talent

We are consistently discussing the value of digital content creation and distribution as a core component of marketing and lead generation; however, an often-overlooked benefit of content marketing is talent recruiting.

The first benefit of content marketing is a residual result from your common and regular marketing efforts. Those looking for a new, exciting, and innovative place to work are going to see your content posted on social sites, LinkedIn, and even YouTube if you are publishing extensive video content. This secondary win is all about positioning your company as a thought leader within the systems integration market.

Prospective employees will want to get an idea of what it is like to work at your company. And, secondarily, your customers will get to meet your team and see your company’s inner workings at the same time. Consider creating some behind the scenes content that features employee interviews and warehouse walk-throughs. How about a closer look at the area where you stage new integration projects before they are delivered to your client’s site, perhaps during a factory acceptance test or even earlier in the process when components are being unified for the first time.

And don’t be afraid to share insights from your company’s big thinkers. Thought leadership can be inspiring for current and prospective employees as well as your customers. Hearing from the Founder, President, CEO, CTO, and other leaders can bring messaging directly to people who may never have heard it directly from your team before.

Consider softening the job posts. Rather than posting a short blurb with common “Now Hiring” speak. Soften the message by highlighting the things discussed previously, then offer a short message at the end of the post suggesting that if the message resonates, the viewer or reader could consider working with your team. Then, supply a simple link to the application, HR email address, or the best way to start the onboarding process.

Pro tip – Your team likely uses forms and landing pages to collect and respond to leads, right? Why not do the same for recruiting? Consider leveraging your wide array of marketing resources to recruit your most valuable assets, new team members. Consult with Human Resources to get a good understanding of current positions that need to be filled and the types of people and qualifications they are seeking. You may find a variety of new hie personas that need to be recruited. For without creative recruiting efforts, there is likely little or no successful expansion of your systems integration business.
