Clients are getting bombarded with electronic information—especially now since in-person meetings and events are on hold. The good news is that they are already at their computer with their email and favorite social media channel most likely open all day. And if you are not messaging them, your competition is. The difference is in what you send to them.
So, what do you create to get your content to stand out? We will cover that topic in this week's blog.
Video Content
Fortunately, making videos is now easier than ever for two important reasons. Your team is more comfortable looking into their camera due to work-at-home orders and smart phones arguably capture videos as well as any affordable “prosumer” level video camera can. Gone are the reasons not to make videos. Now it’s time to take action. Consider the following simple video ideas for the various personas you are trying to connect with:
- Box opening – customers love to see what they will be getting ahead of time and your installation team will thank you for the sneak peek as well
- Solution discussion – every customer has challenges and is looking for solutions. State the challenge first, then work toward the solution. They will swipe past your video if you don’t get their attention immediately.
- Meet the team – customers like to know who they are working with. And now, with meetings eliminated or minimized, it is more important than ever to introduce your team members by using videos. Be sure to explain how each team member brings value to the relationship.
Blog Content
First off, be sure to leverage your videos in your blogs. Write stories and explanations about the videos in your blog and give the viewer the option to read or watch. Next, be sure to write content that solves challenges, do not write commercials. Start with the challenge, then move to the solution, then offer a call to action. Consider:
- New technology solutions
- Migration from old to new systems
- Cyber security updates
- Tech talks
- Solving challenges during a pandemic
Social Media Content
Social media is the perfect place to showcase a video or to tease your viewer to click to learn more. The click should land on your blog post or a website lading page that is dedicated to the top in the social media post. Never post a dead-end. Be sure there is a link or call to action that encourages the next step in the decision-making process. Consider:
- Recent headline news related to systems integration – security, safety, operations, etc.
- ICYMI – In case you missed it posts allow you to leverage existing content for those that missed previous posts
- Technology updates – tease the latest technology solutions
- Staff spotlight – highlight staff members because doing so on social media feels very appropriate and personal
Content Remains King
Knowing your products and services is the easy part. Sometimes taking the time to record a video, no matter how short and simple, just does not happen.
Video rules the roost when it comes to content and you can point clients and prospects to video content located in a variety of locations from social media posts to blog posts to YouTube.
