Holy cow, it’s summer already. Yep, five of the twelve months are gone. How are you doing? Are you 5/12 of the way to your annual goals? Whether you are a little behind or already blowing out your number, the summer needs to be approached differently.
Today is the beginning of the three slowest months of the year for sales professionals. Graduations, Fourth of July, vacations, and the excuses that come with all of these events can make it impossible to move an opportunity through the sale cycle. Now that most decisions are being made by committees, all it takes is one person on the committee to be out for a four-day weekend and your July order just pushed to the fourth quarter. It’s amazing anything at all gets done in the summer.
So, as a sales professional, what can you do during the summer? After all, your quota doesn’t go away until Labor Day.
