Trade shows can be a sales person’s worst nightmare. You’re away from email and the phone for three days and then bam, it’s Monday. You spend two days answering voicemails, putting out fires, responding to emails, etc. On Wednesday you catch up on regular activity that you missed, and then a week has gone by. Before you know it, it’s too late to follow-up on the trade show.
Don’t fall into this trap – wait until Tuesday before doing anything. Invest all day Monday (or whatever day you return from the show) on follow-up items from the show. Get the ball rolling. Don’t wait for marketing … just start doing your thing. If you don’t, you’ll wake up in six weeks and realize you never took advantage of those three days at the show.
