Holding an audience’s attention the entire time of a sales presentation is very rare, but not impossible. Although the answer to this question is very complex and requires more than a few words in a blog post, there is one technique that can greatly improve your ability to keep your audience engaged: the benefit bait.
Share a story that is emotionally relevant to the audience (similar problems, industry, etc.), but don’t share the ending. Stop the story right at the climax and state: “we’ll get to the ending of this story later.” That simple hook will keep them engaged for a while (assuming the subsequent material is also valuable).
